日本ラグビー発展へ会議設置＝年内にも初会合－萩生田文科相

　萩生田光一文部科学相は５日の閣議後記者会見で、２日閉幕したラグビーのワールドカップ（Ｗ杯）日本大会の成功を機に、ラグビー人口の拡大や国際競技力強化について検討するため、政府や関係団体による会議を設置すると発表した。年内にも初会合を開く方針という。
　会議は、スポーツ庁や日本ラグビーフットボール協会、日本スポーツ振興センター、Ｗ杯日本大会組織委員会で構成。萩生田文科相は「大会の成果を次世代にしっかりと引き継いでいけるよう、選手はじめ関係者の声を聞きながら検討を進める」と述べた。（2019/11/05-11:31）

Japanese sports minister Koichi Hagiuda announced Tuesday the establishment of a council for promoting rugby in Japan after the success of the Rugby World Cup in the country, which ended with the final match on Saturday.
   The council will consider ways to increase the number of players and strengthen the national team's international competitiveness, Hagiuda told the press.
   He added that the council, comprising the Japan Sports Agency, the Japan Rugby Football Union, the Japan Sport Council and the organizing committee of the Rugby World Cup, will have its first meeting before the end of the year at the earliest.
   "We will proceed with the discussions while listening to the voices of players and other associated people, so that we can pass on the fruits of (this year's Rugby World Cup) tournament to the next generation," Hagiuda said.
